A baby blue limited edition Cassette with a bonus print included. All three prints will be different from one and other. This means these cassettes are very unique.

Tape could be considered as the last form of music listening where it isn't easy to skip through tracks. I enjoy Cassettes and Vinyl because it means the artist has to consider the album as a whole and not as a series of tracks. I wanted to make the tracks on my album to seamlessly blend together to make it a more immersive listening experience.

about

The Parallel project is based around the concept of two entities that can get close but never meet.

In this project I explore the combination of analogue and digital music production techniques.

The reason for choosing to use old technology and new was that I wanted to work with and manipulate what could be thought of as an archive. Old technology like cassette and reel to reel tape recordings don’t necessarily produce a better audio quality, however, they do provide the listener with a sense of hauntology, due to the artefacts (the hiss, the crackle) that are present during playback of tape. I have chosen in this project to embrace the ‘bad’ audio quality of tape hiss and crackle to further evoke these feelings of nostalgia and hauntology and to develop from the music I have already produced.
